A Casa Cor de Rosa

Casa Cor-de-Rosa is located just outside of the small village of Calhetas on a prominent cliff along the coast. It earned its name because of the pink chalked exterior which for centuries has served as a welcome marker for the fishermen returning to home.
The original part of the house was built in the XVI Century. The house is built on a 10,000 m² farm located on the north coast of the island of S. Miguel near the port of Rabo de Peixe. From here, you can see the entire northern coast of the island, from the sea to the mountains.
The apartment, which is an independent part of the house , had been a barn used to store corn and still contains the winepress, an architectural feature typical of Azorean cottages. The rooms have been carefully restored, enlarged and adapted to the comforts of modern life. It features a living room with a wood burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, large bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub. There is also an outside BBQ.
The Casa Cor-de-Rosa also offers its guests, a radio, free Wi-Fi Internet, a small library, board games and bicycles.
On arrival, guests will be welcomed with bread and homemade jam, milk, coffee, tea, fruit, water, butter and cheese. The apartment is stocked with some basic cooking ingredients .
This is our home in the main part of the house next door, so we are available at any time to answer questions or help with any arrangements. It is our pleasure to help you make the most of your visit and we will gladly advise you on local activities, events and culture.
Children are welcome. Please ask if you need a cot or high chair.
